omg, it's been nearly 4 years, finally got out again. not before i discovered the boom lever cleat was destroyed by corrosion and the trim locks had snapped. thank god for gaffer tape as there's no popping down to the local windsurf shop these days!

launched in Swan Bay by the yacht club, and good to see a couple of others out too cause I figured there was a reasonable chance I'd require the emergency services calling at some point, but thankfully it proved otherwise.

strong cross wind, a bit flukey near the club as coming over the land but strong and clean further out, overpowered on the 5.3m. a miracle - i could remember how to windsurf. not quite planning out of the gybes but close.

even though high tide, it's only waist to ankle deep and the fin was touching frequently. sandy weedy bottom though so just blasted over it. towards the end of the session board start to feel weird, juttering and almost spinning out. got back to discover the shallow water and sandy bottom had resulted in the curved fin being sanded about 5mm flatter and a flap of the fin hanging off. oh well guess it was worth it.

shout out to Brian, maker and squiz, good to see you going strong. what about the rest of the felixstowe mob??!
